Training in the field of Social-Ecological System (SES) can show complex interactions and changes between processes at different spatial and temporal scales, and the results are widely understood as complex adaptive systems that serve as the basis for management (Lauer et al., 2013; Walker et al., 2002). SES can help resource/environment managers to forecast and adapt to environmental change to support policy choices.
