(Semarang, July 21, 2025) – Another proud achievement was made by the Aquatic Resources Student Association (HIMASAKA) Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Universitas Diponegoro. The HIMASAKA FPIK UNDIP PPK Ormawa team has again successfully passed funding in the 2025 Student Organization Capacity Strengthening Program (PPK Ormawa) organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology. The 2025 Student Organization Capacity Strengthening Program (PPK ORMAWA) officially opened registration from April to May 2025. This program focuses on community service and empowerment carried out by students in the hope that it can have a positive impact on the community and the village.
Not only the Directorate of Belmawa and Kemendikbudristek who provide funding, but Universitas Diponegoro this year also provided support to the PPK ORMAWA Team that passed the funding. This year, the team carries the title “Green Solutions for Bejalen Village: Empowering Pokdarling as a Driver of Food Self-Sufficiency and Transforming Water Hyacinth into Alternative Energy with the Co-digestion Method”. This program is a continuation and development of the previous year’s program, in which HIMASAKA also successfully won funding and conducted social interventions based on community empowerment in Bejalen Village, Ambarawa District, Semarang Regency, Central Java Province.
In the spirit of collaboration and sustainability, this year’s program focuses on strengthening the role of the Environmental Awareness Group (Pokdarling) as the motor of food self-sufficiency as well as processing water hyacinth waste into environmentally friendly alternative energy through the co-digestion method by making biogas. This initiative is expected to not only provide solutions to environmental and food problems in Bejalen Village, but also strengthen the capacity of local communities as agents of change. Increasing the capacity and number of Pokdarling members this year is one of the targets to be achieved by the PPK ORMAWA HIMASAKA 2025 Team as a driving force for climate resilient action in Bejalen Village.
This success is clear evidence of HIMASAKA FPIK UNDIP’s consistency in supporting village development based on innovation, empowerment, and sustainability. Hopefully the PPK ORMAWA HIMASAKA program, which runs from July to November, is expected to have a wider positive impact and become an inspiration for other student organizations.
