Semarang, February 3, 2019. The Water resource management study Program together with the team from HITACHI (Japan) held an international cooperation service to the community in the village Mangunharjo Semarang. This activity was coordinated by Prof. Dr. Ir. Agus Hartoko, M.Sc. Hitachi team consisted of Mr. Yusuke Higaki (Director of Asia Infrastructure Corporate) and 5 people from Hitachi team who participated in this activity, among others: Keita Wada, Yoshikazu Noutomi, Kenta Otsuka, Yoshinobu Inoue, and Ken Matsuda. Besides, participants in the community service event were also attended by several lecturers from the Department of Aquatic Resources.
This series of events, among others, contributed to the benefits of the pigment of mangrove that can be used as a material in making batik. Then also do mangrove planting with the type Rhizopora sp. and also introduce batik culture to guests from Japan. The next series of events will be held also the preservation of the biota “Mimi” or Horseshoe Crab in the area.
