On Saturday, April 26, 2025, a General Lecture titled “Fisheries Management to Support Food Safety and Sustainability” was held. This event was organized as part of an effort to enhance academic knowledge and awareness in the field of fisheries, particularly in the management of aquatic resources to support food security and environmental sustainability.
The lecture featured Prof. MATSUSIHI Takashi Fritz, Ph.D., an internationally recognized fisheries expert from Japan with an extensive academic and professional background. In his presentation, the speaker emphasized the importance of applying sustainable fisheries management principles as a foundation for maintaining marine resource availability while ensuring the quality and safety of fish products for public consumption.
The event was enthusiastically attended by undergraduate and postgraduate students from the Aquatic Resources Management program, as well as faculty members. The interactive Q&A session reflected the participants’ strong interest in key strategic issues related to fisheries management.
Through this event, participants were expected to gain a deeper understanding of the importance of integrating environmental, social, and economic aspects in fisheries resource management.
